FOCUS ON LEARNING, FoL English, WAS FOUNDED WITH FLEXIBILITY IN MIND. OUR DREAM WAS TO DEVELOP A POOL OF DEDICATED TEACHERS WITH DIFFERENT SKILLS TO CREATE DIVERSE LEARNING EXPERIENCES WITH A FOCUS ON THE STUDENT. THESE COURSES COULD THEN BE HELD AT HOME, ABROAD, IN THE UK OR ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD THANKS TO THE INTERNET. THIS IS HOW OUR STORY BEGAN.

Our founders have worked for many years teaching English as a foreign language in the UK and offering in-school and residential courses abroad. This experience led to the decision that writing and organising these courses ourselves would provide greater scope and flexibility to teach in a way which would best fit our students’ needs.

It all began on a residential course in the Alps when our planned outdoor sports activities were curtailed by a sudden onset of snow. With limited resources, a member of the team stepped in to provide dancing lessons which were met with great enthusiasm. This success inspired our unique mission to use our teachers’ skills and specialist subject knowledge and offer tailored courses and creative workshops beyond the scope of general English language.

Back in London, we spoke with a friend who could teach French and another who had studied art. Musicians, singers, directors, promoters; as we received more interest from friends and contacts, we soon came to realise that we had a whole network of skills to offer our students.
